Nelson Next: Climate Plan

In an effort to help create a climate plan that people would actually read, The City of Nelson approached me to help them design this important document. I did this by crafting a unique design language based around the custom cover illustration that resulted in an approachable, memorable piece, completely unique from comparable municipal climate plan documents.

Taking cues from the janky visual style of the custom cover illustration, the style into graphs, charts and illustrations throughout this sixty page document to add a human touch - a feeling of warmth that most comparable climate plans lack.

The plan was focused around seven key aspirations, each one with a simple spot illustration to help communicate the theme. Photography sourced from local photographers was also incorporated across the plan’s sections.
